Lambrusco
Sweet and sparkling, the perfect touch of red!
Like the sweet red vintage it is named for, Lambrusco Barberry adds an eye-popping touch of color to any landscape.
The foliage emerges red and deepens to a rich burgundy as the season progresses. The red foliage is accented by tiny yellow flowers for added dimension.
Densely arranged leaves and a spreading habit make this a particularly useful landscape plant, which can be substituted for ‘Crimson Pygmy’ in colder climates since it is more cold-hardy.
Bred by Don Sellinger and introduced by Bailey Nurseries.
Here are three great reasons to grow Lambrusco:
- Bright red foliage deepens to a rich burgundy in the fall.
- Densely arranged leaves and spreading habits.
- Cold hardy so it can be substituted for ‘Crimson Pygmy’.
